New!  The Little Sewing Box Series   (updated 08/15/07)

This 2-day class is designed to teach the basic finishing techniques of flat, padded finish, open case (for scissors), lining a Shaker box, bag construction, and twisted cord and tassels.  Students will stitch a choice of designs as pre-work and all finishing will be completed in class.  The Little Sewing Box features a pinkeep with needle page and a scissors case attached to the lined Shaker box with silk satin ribbons.  It is housed in a drawstring bag with cord and tassel closure.  A small sampler is applied to the front.  Three designs for counted thread and one for quilting (paper piecing) will be available, so that students in a class can choose different designs.  Everything is the same shape and size, just different designs. The designs options are Quaker, Charleston, Liberty and Pioneer. (Quaker and Charleston are pictured below.)  Email me for more details on this project.

Most of my teaching pieces have been released as charts on the retail market.  I still have two separate two-day workshop classes available for guilds and shops:  "The Finer Point of Finishing, Part I" and "The Finer Points of Finishing, Part II".

The Finer Points of Finishing, Part I    The Finer Points of Finishing, Part II

I will teach any of my commercial designs as a finishing class, since most of the designs involve quite a bit of finishing.  I will also customize a class for your specific situation.  Please call me to discuss teaching options further.
