My Blog
UPDATE August 2007 (08/26/07)
I am attempting a blog to keep you updated on works in progress (both commercial and teaching) as well as "Tin Alerts!". The link at the top of this page and can be accessed at http://fancyworkbyjane.blogspot.com/
The My Country Sewing Set for the Patriotic Hershey's Tins is ready and has been shipped to my distributor. Check with your local or internet shop. I hope to post a set stitched on vintage linen with primitive red and blue by September. I'm having a custom fabric-covered box made for these colors, since the Hershey's tin will not be available much longer.
(The tiny emery pictured on the right was finished after the initial photography was complete. As mentioned in the chart, it was difficult to finish, so don't attempt it unless you are very patient.)

Motifs Inspired by Whitman's Tins
This was released in February at the Nashville Market. I'm just slow updating my website. It contains sets for 4 tins which are no longer available, except on the secondary market (places like Ebay). However, the motifs are ones that are common to many Whitman's tins over the years, so I hope that you will be able to use them whether or not you own the tins.
UPDATE Fall 2006 (08/16/06)
Several new Whitman's Candy Tins have been released this past year and I've designed a sewing set for all of them. The Cloisonne tin from 2005 has been joined by the 1930's black/gold tin and the teal Wynnewood tin. All three designs are in one chart, with finishing instructions that work for all three sets. This design is called Whitman's Tin Sewing Set (Cloisonne, 1930's, Wynnewood)
The newest Whitman's tin is a little larger and I've designed a set of accessories in a new style for this one. It has a pincushion finished as a biscornu, a teeny, tiny scissors sheath and a personalized needlebook cover. It's called Whitman's Vintage Red Sewing Set.

At long last, I've finished the Lavender Rose Sewing Case and Accessories to accompany the Lavender Rose Sweet Bag. It's really hard to photograph a tri-fold case in one picture, so here are four pictures. The picture on the cover of the chart will be a photomerge of these four views. This is a Nashville market introduction, February 2006.
